Amelia "Star" Hullander

Amelia “Star” Hullander, 61, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Friday, February 12, 2021at a local hospital.  She worked at TVA as a telecommunications operator for 13 years.  “Star” was married to the love of her life, Gary Hullander, for 25 years. She was of the Christian faith and a member of South Cleveland Church of God.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Hortensia Oliva; daughter, Hortensia Rodriguez; and sister, Alma Oliva.

She is survived by her husband, Gary Hullander; daughters; Natalie Baxter and husband, Jody of Cleveland, Crystal Evans and husband, Colby of Cleveland, Shelly Lupo and husband, Stephen of Cleveland, Faith Hakes and husband, Gary of Chickamauga, and  Carrie Green of Cleveland; grandchildren, Lauren Hullander, Keirra Lupo, Joseph Suits, Bryan Baxter, Sierra Baxter, Alyssa Baxter, Cooper Green, Spencer Dailey, Dexter Dailey, Taylor Hakes, Tori Hakes, Alexis Hakes, Lorenzo Hakes, and Leonardo Hakes; great-grandchildren, Logan Hakes, Nolan Hakes, and Oliver Hakes; sisters, Myra Gonzales, Adalberto Gonzales-Carberra; Juanolga Oliva-Cabrera, and Luisa Oliva-Cabrera; nieces, Yeresli Montenegro, Noemi Quintana; and nephew, Yoilan Oliva; and several other nieces and nephews also survived.

A celebration of her life will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, February 15, 2021 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Reverend Edwin Lipsey officiating.  Interment will follow at Plowman Cemetery with Gary Hakes, Taylor Hakes, Jody Baxter, Casey Hullander, Joseph Suits, and Joe Suits serving as pallbearers.  A white dove release ceremony and the playing of bagpipes will conclude the service. 

The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
