Virginia Jo Carr

Virginia Jo Carr, age 75, of Calhoun, passed away Friday, May 20, 2005 at the family residence. She was a native and life long resident of Calhoun. She was a member of Calhoun First Baptist Church and was employed with First American Bank for thirty years. Mrs. Carr was the daughter of the late Nathaniel "Nat" and Alice K. Davis Shamblin and was also preceded in death by three brothers: Clyde Shamblin, Clarence "Cap" Shamblin, and Bill Shamblin. Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Billy D. "Jake" Carr of Calhoun; one daughter and son-in-law: Teresa and Jerry Quirk of Athens; one son and daughter-in-law: Doug and Kim Carr of Cleveland; four grandchildren: Tanner and Madison Quirk, Karra and Katie Carr; three brothers: Tom Shamblin of Chattanooga, Jack Shamblin of Donalsonville, GA, and George Shamblin of Calhoun; several nieces and nephews also survive.
