Frank Bacon

January 14, 1914 — November 5, 2005

R. Frank Bacon, age 91, a life long resident of Cleveland, passed away Saturday, November 05, 2005 in a local hospital. He was a member of St. Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church where he active in the Knight of Columbus. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving in the European Conflict and received a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart. Mr. Bacon was the son of the late William Edgar and Sarah Martha Sutherland Bacon and was also preceded in death by his wife Katherine Bielenberg Bacon and a sister Marie Bacon Roberson. He is survived by two nieces: Nancy McClure of Cleveland and Sara Roberson; two grand nieces, Sara McClure of Cleveland and Sharlene Greendyk of Seattle, Washington; four grand nephews: Kevin Bonner of South Lake Tahoe, California, Jeffrey Bonner of San Diego, California, Gregory Bonner of Phoenix, Arizonia and Jason Tyler of Providence, Rhode Island. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home. Interment will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday in Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors. His family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
