Mabel Tankersley Epperson

February 14, 1918 — November 19, 2005

Mabel Tankersley Epperson, age 87, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Saturday, November 19, 2005 at her home. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church. Before retiring, she was employed with Hardwick Stove Company. She was the daughter of the late William and Orabelle Wolfe Tankersley and was also preceded in death by her husband, Jewell Gray Epperson, and one sister, Nina Tankersley Painter. She is survived by her son, Gray Epperson of Cleveland; one sister, Doris Tankersley Davis of Rosedale, MS; one nephew, William Vance Davis III of Cleveland, MS; and two nieces: Nancy Painter Miller of Cleveland, and Roszan Painter Rogers of Oak Ridge. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday at First Presbyterian Church with Reverend Joe Tanner officiating. Interment will follow in Hilcrest Memorial Gardens. Her family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Her family requests that memorials be made to First Presbyterian Church, 433 North Ocoee Street, Cleveland TN 37311. Ralph Buckner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
