Carol Murphy Harmeson

July 9, 1947 — February 14, 2006

On Valentine?s Day, February 14, 2006, my precious American Beauty, Carol Murphy Harmeson, was transplanted to the Heavenly Garden by the Master Gardener, God Almighty at high noon, 12 p.m. She was a faithfully devoted member of New Horizons Baptist Fellowship where she served her Lord in many positions, including the church tutorial ministry, care group leader, coordinator of women?s ministries, events planner, outreach ministries, ministers appreciation committee, and the Hillview Core Group Vision Team. She also was a past officer of the Beta Sigma Phi organization, Laureate Phi chapter. Serving as a schoolteacher for Cleveland City Schools for many years, she was also a member of the National, Tennessee, and Cleveland Education Associations. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Thomas Murphy, and grandparents, John Newton (Papa) and Lela Tyson Dinkins. She is survived by her husband of 23 years, Dale Harmeson of Cleveland; two sons and daughter-in-laws, Dennis and Rebecca Harmeson of Pinellas Park, FL, and Dean and Janet Harmeson of Clearwater, FL; grandchildren, Aaron, Ian, and Samantha Harmeson of Pinellas Park, FL, and Brendon, Kaylee, and Nathan Harmeson of Clearwater, FL; mother, Ethel Dinkins Murphy of Cleveland; mother and father-in-law, Dr. Vernon and Bonnie Harmeson of Cleveland; brother-in-law Dr. Phil and Bonnie Harmeson of Grand Forks, ND; one cousin, Dr. Robert "Bobby" and Ingrid Johnson of Seattle, WA; several nieces and nephews also survive.
