Katherine Louise Wheeler

November 17, 1919 — March 16, 2006

Katherine Hybarger Wheeler, 86, went home to be with Jesus on Thursday afternoon, March 16, 2006, at a local nursing home. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. She served as a den mother for Cub Scouts during her son’s elementary school years. She also served as a crossing guard at Allen School and was an active member of the DAV ladies auxiliary for many years. She was born in Midway, Tennessee on November 17, 1919 to the late Lacy Wilburn and Ruby Harmon Hybarger. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 27 years, William C. (Bill) Wheeler, and one brother, Bob Hybarger. She is survived by her devoted son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Sue Wheeler of Cleveland; grandchildren: Heather Wheeler Howard, and William Heath Wheeler and wife, Alicia; great-grandchildren: Devin and Morgan Howard, and Reagan and Ross Wheeler; sisters: Mary Evans and Virginia Ooten; brother, C.L. Hybarger and wife, Mary; four nieces: Pattie Bell, Debbie Bethune, Robin Hybarger and Kathy Howard; and four nephews: Henry Evans, Jr., James Evans, Charles Hybarger, and Barry Hybarger. Services will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. Saturday in the chapel at Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Gary Sears, Paul Lee and Wayne Chelette of Mt. Olive Ministries officiating. The family will have a private graveside service on Monday, March 20, 2006 with Carson Hamilton, Jr., Kito Cintron, Wayne Easley, Kent Black, and nephews, Charles Hybarger, Henry Evans, Jr., and James Evans serving as pallbearers. .
