Betty Joan Lee Miller

March 9, 1940 — March 23, 2006

Betty Joan Lee Miller, age 66, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Thursday, March 23, 2006 in a local hospital. She had resided in many places but had enjoyed living in Alaska for twenty years. She was a member of the Union Missionary Baptist Church and was a christian person of great faith. She was a talented quilter and a member of the Common Threads Quilt Club and also loved oil painting and sewing. She was a very active worker in the Storehouse Food Ministry. Mrs. Miller was the daughter of the late William Hall and Irene Thompson Lee and was also preceded in death by a son, Ron Redding. She is survived by her loving husband, James Robert Miller of Cleveland; four children and spouses: Mike and Laura Redding of California, Chris and Patty Redding of Pocatello, Idaho, Donna Hicks of Norway, James R. Miller, Jr. and Dondra of Hiram, GA; daughter-in-law, Joy Redding of California; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Diane Ansley of Ellijay, GA; one brother, Tom Chauncy of Santa Rosa, California; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Pastor Larry Humbard, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Union Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery with the release of a flock of white doves concluding the service. Joshua Holder, Richmond Holder, Dan Stevison, Jared McCurry, Chris Lee and John Tatum will serve as pallbearers. Her family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
