Edith Roper

Edith Roper, age 75, a native of Alabama and longtime resident of Bradley County, joined her Lord, Jesus Christ, and her husband, James A. Roper, Saturday, April 22, 2006. She was a member of Corinth Baptist Church in McDonald. Early in her life, she was called to serve as a medical professional having served for many years in hospitals and nursing homes in Florida and also in Cleveland. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Marion and Odessa Butner, her husband, James A. Roper and a brother, Paul Butner. She is survived by nine children and their spouses: Edie and Jeff Coffey of Cleveland, Larry and Eloise Summerford of Odessa, FL, Dwight and Diane Summerford of Oldsmar, FL, Tommy and Carol Summerford of Auburndale, FL, Bobby Summerford of Cleveland, Jim and Jane Roper of Decatur, Janet and Buddy Suggs of Decatur, Jeannie Redmond of Knoxville, and John and Joyce Roper of Ringgold, GA; two brothers: Albert Butner of Floral City, FL, and Joe Butner of Dallas, TX; nineteen grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
