Thelma Geren

November 3, 1918 — April 26, 2006

Thelma M. Geren, age 87, a resident of Ooltewah and a former resident of Cleveland, passed away Wednesday, April 26, 2006 at her residence. She was a member of the Gum Springs Baptist Church. Mrs. Geren was the daughter of the late Joe and Euna Lawson Grissom and was also preceded in death by her husband, J.W. (Dub) Geren, one son, Bobby Geren, one brother, Leonard Grisham, two sisters, Clara Graham and Lennie Farmer. She is survived by her daughter, Jo Ann Trusley and husband, Larry Trusley of Ooltewah; two grandchildren: Lynn Rhodes of Ooltewah and Pam Long and husband, Jim Long of Tiftonia; one great-grandchild, Jennifer Long; special friend and caretaker, Edwina Morrow of Cleveland; special niece, Juanita Hinkle of Cleveland; other nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 29, 2006 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Pastor Johnny Hood officiating. Special music will be provided by Shirley Hood. Interment will follow in Johnston Cemetery in Meigs County with a white dove release ceremony concluding the service. Pallbearers will be Donnie Grisham, Danny Trentham, Keith Grisham, Donald Akin, D.W. Frazier and Jim Bolten. Her family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Friday, April 28, 2006 at the funeral home.
