LouVerne Shoemaker

March 31, 1934 — April 27, 2006

LouVerne Shoemaker, age 72, a resident of Georgetown, passed away at home on Thursday, April 27, 2006 after a lengthy illness. She worked many years at Collins Manufacturing but had been retired for ten years. She was a member of Stanfield Baptist Church for sixty years. Mrs. Shoemaker was the daughter of the late J.C. And Della Hicks Rogers and was also preceded in death by her husband, John Shoemaker, two sisters, Dee Etta Blackwell and Jeanette Works and a granddaughter, Angela Geren. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law: Lucille and Terry Geren of Cookeville, TN and Hazel and Rickey Brogan of Georgetown; three grandsons: Brad Geren and Nathan Geren both of Cookeville, TN and Joshua Rogers of Georgetown; one granddaughter, Keisha Rogers of Georgetown; five great-grandchildren: Savanna Geren, Cole Geren, Dylan Dawson, Dakota Dawson and Logan Crumley; two sisters, Frances Chadwick and Melvine Hale both of Charleston; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 29, 2006 at the Stanfield Baptist Church with Pastor David Evans officiating. Interment will follow in the Stanfield Baptist Church Cemetery with the white dove release ceremony concluding the service. Pallbearers will be Sonny Shoemaker, Donnie Shoemaker, David Shoemaker, Mike Hale, Melvin Chadwick and Darryl Works. Her family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Friday, April 28, 2006 at Ralph Buckner Funeral Home. The family will also receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Stanfield Baptist Church prior to the service.
