Walter E Harger

Walter E. Harger, 82, a resident of Benton, passed away Saturday, April 12, 2008 at the family residence. He was a member of the First Lutheran Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving in World War II. Mr. Harger was a retired construction worker with the carpenters? union in IL. He is preceded in death by his parents Walter and Clara Moody Harger and two brothers, Richard Earl Harger and Burton Harger. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Dolores Dole Harger of Benton; three children: Donna Wingard (Robert) of Cleveland, Pamela Sells (Craig) of Morton, IL and Terry Peters (James) of Cleveland; six grandchildren: Scott Sells (Stacy), Jennifer Morton, Julie Dennison (Jeremy) and Adam Sells (Heather Newlin) all of IL, Sarah Beth Williams (Jordan) and Daniel Wingard (fiancée, Sarah Alhindi) all of Cleveland; ten great grandchildren: Zachary Sells, Kayla Dennison, Abbey Sells, Jacob Sells, Emily Dennison, Alpha Morton, Autumn Dennison, Gage Jording, Annie Morton and Braedon Sells; two sisters: Edythe Dixon of OK and Edna Weaver of AK; three brothers: Samuel Edward Harger of UT, Charles Harger of AK and Robert Harger of CA; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 17, 2008 at the First Lutheran Church with the Reverend Robert Seaton officiating. His family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Ralph Buckner Funeral Home.
