Sam George Lambert, Jr. “relinquished the reigns” as he went to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 24, 2014, a perfect day to go home as George lived his life for the Lord. George loved the Lord as well as his family. He was a devoted husband to Dolores Lambert for over 66 years. They were high school sweethearts and displayed a love that is less and less common these days. George was an entrepreneur his entire life and is regarded as one of the pioneers to the limestone crushing business. He was an owner/operator at multiple quarries all over the south as he provided not only for his own family but hundreds of others as well.
---
He was a member of First Baptist Church of Cleveland.
---
Maryville, TN was considered home to George and Dolores although their last 20 plus years were spent in Cleveland. He was the father of three sons and one daughter as well as a grandfather and great grandfather. He always made efforts to see all the games and recitals. George was a very strong man in everyway but at the same time was as tender at heart as the smallest child. His boisterous way will be sadly missed but will never be forgotten as he has touched all our lives in some form or fashion.
