Wanda “Sue” Walker Harris, 65, won the race called life on Thursday, August 28, 2014. She was a loving and caring wife, mother and a loving “Nana” to her grandchildren. Her greatest joys in life were her grandkids. Sue will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She was an avid crafter. She was a truck driver for many years for Moo-La Transportation.
Mrs. Harris was the daughter of the late George Washington Walker and Layia Troy Nutt Walker and was also preceded in death by 16 brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her loving husband of 48 years Louis Roger Harris of Cleveland; two children: Kimberly Sue Couture and husband, Hector of Cleveland and David Lee Harris and wife, Christine of Charlotte, NC; four grandchildren: Leslie Janell Couture, Austin Bradley Couture both of Cleveland, Ashley Morgan Harris and Bailey Ann Harris both of Charlotte, NC; one brother, Robert Walker of Odessa, TX and one sister, Sarah Davis of Karnes City, TX; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 31, 2014 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Reverend Wayne D. Sullivan officiating.
The family will receive friends from 12-2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home prior to the service.
The family requests that memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
