Chelsea Renee Chastain

Chelsea Renee Chastain, 26, a resident of Birchwood, passed away Friday, September 05, 2014 in a Knoxville hospital. She was of the Baptist faith. She loved to travel, snowboard, and do mission work in Haiti. She studied abroad in Spain and Europe and loved life to its fullest.
She was preceded in death by her father, Steve Chastain who passed away in 2005.
She is survived by her mother, Karen Chastain Dowdy and step father, David Dowdy of Birchwood; two brothers: Dustin Chastain and Jeremy Chastain and wife, Missy all of Cleveland; one step brother, Britt Dowdy and wife, Kim of Fountain City, California; one sister, Paige Albright and husband, Carl of Mountain Brook, Alabama; grandparents, Max and Helen Ledford and Hettie Chastain all of Cleveland; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews also survive.
A funeral service will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, September 7, 2014 at First Baptist Church with Reverend Steve Best officiating. Interment will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 8, 2014 at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Jeremy Chastain, Dustin Chastain, Kyle Carter, Chad Fromm, Robert Dotson, and Cory Randolph serving as pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sunday at the church prior to the service.
