Denny Carroll Atchley
November 14, 1938 — June 10, 2014
Denny Carroll Atchley, 75, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Tuesday, June 10, 2014 in a local hospital. He was born in McMinn County but had lived a majority of his life in Bradley County. He was a retired contractor from Bowater after 22 years of service. He was an avid NASCAR fan; a hard worker and enjoyed the simple life.
Mr. Atchley was the son of the late Authur T. Atchley and Ella Mae Burnett Atchley and was also preceded in death by his brothers, Kenneth Atchley, Billy Atchley, Johnny Atchley and Charles Atchley.
He is survived by his siblings: Joseph Atchley, Marjorie Collins and husband, Jerry and Wanda Morgan all of Cleveland, Barbara Suits and husband, Dennis of Tullahoma, Marshall Atchley and wife, Joanie, Jimmy Atchley and wife, Martha and Neal Atchley and wife, Jodi all of Sarasota, Florida; best friend, Rick Martin of Cleveland; several nieces, nephews and other extended family member also survive.
A gathering of friends will be held on Friday, June 13, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Ralph Buckner Funeral Home.
