Alene Dowdy

Alene Dowdy, 80, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Friday, June 20, 2014 at Signature Healthcare.  She was of the Baptist faith.

Mrs. Dowdy was preceded in death by her husband, Don Edward Dowdy who passed away on January 11, 2013. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Elmer Harold Gardner and Clara N. Aagesen Gardner; brother, Ralph Elmer Gardner.

She is survived by her three children:  Joyce D. Clark and husband, Stephen of Chattanooga, Terry Dowdy of Cleveland, and Kathy Timmerman and husband, Jeremy of Charleston; three grandchildren:  Chase M. Clark, Kennedy D. Timmerman and Emma K. Timmerman; two sisters:  Carrie Hirschfeld and husband, Albert of Sterling, Colorado, Lorene E. Simmering of York, Pennsylvania; four brothers:  Ivan L. Gardner of Sterling, Colorado, Melvin Gardner and wife, Theresa of Sterling, Colorado, Robert L. Gardner of Cleveland and Gerald Gardner of California, Missouri; brother-in-law, Robert C. Dowdy and wife, Cindy of Charleston; and sister-in-law Susie Gardner of Lake Hughes, California, and close family friend, Wilma Wells.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 22, 2014 at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Pastor Jerry Timmerman officiating.
