Nancy Joan Carroll, Spell, a longtime resident of Cleveland, passed away on July 10th, 2014. Nancy, also known as “Joan,” or “Joann,” was the much loved wife of Carl L. Spell, and the beloved mother of Paula Day West, Karen Day Thompson, Jeffrey Day, Teresa Day Farris, and Stephanie Parker Gregory. She was the daughter of Lewis B. and Ella Mae Carroll, and was the sister of William “Bill” Carroll, and Jerry “Butch” Gregg. Nancy was an inspiration to all who met her. Her warm personality, philosophy of life, and selfless and compassionate manner, left an indelible memory on all who knew her. She lived her life to the absolute fullest, and she enhanced the lives of countless others. She was greatly loved, and she will be deeply missed. She was a member of Clingan Ridge Baptist Church.
Nancy is survived by her husband, brothers, and children, mentioned above, as well as her grandchildren, Scott West, Andrew West, Melea West, Nathan Day, Tara Silvers, Jimmy Lee Gregory, and Sebren Gregory, and great grandchildren, Bryson West, Hayden West, Chaz West, Jordan West, Ethan Day, Reese Day, and Lyric Brown.
A graveside service will be conducted at 6:00 p.m. Friday, July 11, 2014 at Ramsey Cemetery with Reverend Tracy Fansler and Reverend Gary Moats officiating. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service. Family and friends will assemble at Ralph Buckner Funeral Home at 5:00 p.m. and proceed to the cemetery at 5:30 p.m.
