Venetta L. Bailey, 79, a resident of Cleveland for the past 18 years, passed away Friday, July 11, 2014 at the family residence. She was a member of the Central Church of Christ.
Mrs. Bailey was the daughter of the late Edward Burditt and Jewel Millhollen Burditt and was also preceded in death by her sister, Ola Mae Schutze.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Jimmy Bailey of Cleveland; three children: Patricia Coggin and husband, Danny of Cleveland, Larry Bailey and wife, Melissa of Round Rock, Texas and Greg Bailey of Oak Ridge, TN; five grandchildren: Ben Bailey and wife, Jennifer of Round Rock, Texas, Spc. William Bailey of Ft. Bragg, N.C., Andrew Coggin and wife, Emily of Cleveland, Joseph Bailey and wife, Stefanie of Charleston, S.C. and Katie Coggin of Cleveland; one great-grandchild, Bryson Marlow; one sister, Juanice Walton of San Antonio, Texas.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 15, 2014 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Minister Tom Harrison officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with her grandsons serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, July 14, 2014 at the funeral home.
The family requests that memorials be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 7625 Hamilton Park Drive Suite 8, Chattanooga, TN 37421 or to Hospice of Chattanooga Foundation, P.O. Box 19269, Chattanooga, TN 37416.
