Robert Ludwig Maurer, 83, a resident of Georgetown, passed away Thursday, August 7, 2014 in a local hospital. He was a former resident of Michigan and had lived in Georgetown for the past 30 years.
He was a test driver at Milford Proving Grounds for General Motors in Michigan. He was of the Christian faith. He received numerous awards from Black Lake Proving Grounds in Milford, MI. He loved nature, driving, and being outdoors
He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Ann Ridalls Maurer; parents, Ludwig and Hazel Blumenschein Maurer; three sisters, Marjorie Domas, Loretta Selden and Ilene Kirkland.
He is survived by three children: Kevin Darrell Maurer of Athens, GA, Todd Alan Maurer and wife Kimberly of Davisburg, MI, and Troy Spencer Maurer of Georgetown; six grandchildren: Shaun Maurer and wife Taileh of Fenton, MI, Scott Maurer and wife Heather of Fenton, MI, Lacey Sievers and husband Nicholas of Clarkston, MI, Todd Alan Maurer, Jr., and wife Kate of Kalamazoo, MI, Brandy M. Maurer of Clarkston, MI, and Morgan Maurer and fiance Charla Arning of Holly, MI; great-grandchildren: Adrian McClain, Jr., A’miyah Maurer, Malachi Sievers, Sierra Sievers, Audrianna Maurer, Todd Alan Maurer III, Evan Maurer, Chase Maurer, Ethan Maurer, Angelina Maurer, and Jack Maurer; great-great grandchild: Stacy Maurer; and several nieces and nephews also survive.
A private service will be held by the family.
