Naomi Thompson Sexton, 75, a lifelong resident of Cleveland, passed away Sunday, March 2, 2014 in a local hospital. She was a member of Samples Memorial Baptist Church for 48 years.
Mrs. Sexton was the daughter of the late Elmer Thompson and Mildred Buckner Thompson and was also preceded in death by her daughter, Melisa Lynn Wright; sisters: Katherine Huelett and Jean Burger and brother, Dean Thompson.
She is survived by her husband of 15 years, Gilbert Sexton of Cleveland; one daughter, Sandra Holloway of Cleveland; step-daughters: Pam Scoggins and husband, Rick, Betty Pierce and husband, R. B.; stepson, Gary Sexton and wife, Markette; grandchildren: Jonathan Freeman, Jason Freeman, Tyler Marcrom; great-grandchildren: Brysen Freeman, Essie Lee Grace Freeman, Lilli Freeman and Skylar Freeman; brother, Homer Thompson and wife, Denarae of Greybwill, WY; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at the Samples Memorial Baptist Church with Reverend Mark Cameron, Reverend Lee Ingram and Reverend Mike Rymer officiating. Interment will follow in Samples Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery with the deacons of Samples Memorial Baptist Church serving as pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 4, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Ralph Buckner Funeral Home.
