Russell “Rusty” Wesley “Pappy” Lee, Sr., 75, a resident of Cleveland, born on November 27, 1938 went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, March 7, 2014 at his residence. He was a follower of Christ and a loving husband, father, and brother.
He was of the Church of God faith. He served his country in the United States Navy and was a retiree of Bowater Corporation with 25 years of service. He loved playing his guitar and blue grass music. He loved nature, and enjoyed hunting, fishing and sitting on his front porch.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Bonnie Clark Lee and Maynard “Cricket” Lee; and son, Alan Hampton.
He is survived by his wife, Vicki Gibson Lee; daughter, Beth Lee Hill and husband Shawn; sons, Russ Lee and wife Mary, John Lee and wife Bridgett, Chris Lee and wife Amy, Brad Hampton and wife Glenda, and Brandon Lee; grandchildren, Casey Lee, Addy Lee, Ana Lee, Kelsey Lee, Nathan Lee, Stephen Lee, Matilda Lee, Jacob Lee, Elliott Lee, Kaylee Hill, Michael Hill, Caleb Hill, Alexis Hampton, Kaylee Shell, Skylah Shell, and “Pappy” to many; two sisters, Gloria Easley and Connie McKee; one brother Ronald Lee and wife Deane; and numerous friends, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 10, 2014 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Macedonia Cemetery with Casey Lee, Nathan Lee, Stephen Lee, Brad Hampton, Shawn Hill, Michael Hill, and Jacob Lee serving as pallbearers. Caleb Hill and Elliott Lee will serve as honorary pallbearers. The service will conclude with Military Honors and a white dove release ceremony.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, March 9, 2014 at the funeral home.
