Fred William Dalton, age 79, a resident of Old Fort, TN, passed away Friday, March 28, 2014, in a Chattanooga hospital. He was a member of Covenant Baptist Church. He enjoyed camping, hunting, and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Ora Irons Dalton; four sisters: Faye Webb, Sue Dalton, Jane Dalton and Josie Ruth Dalton; and one brother, Alvin Dalton.
Survivors include four children: Freda Ingram and husband Chuck of Cleveland, Freddy Dalton of Cleveland, Terry Dalton and wife Carol of Cleveland, and Keith Dalton of Ocoee, TN; five grandchildren: Karen Crowder and husband Chris, Jeanna Meyer and husband Garrett, Rickey John Musgrove and wife Jann, Marcus Dalton, and Freddy Dalton, Jr.; five great grandchildren; and one sister-in-law, Joyce Dalton.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, March 31, 2014, at Covenant Baptist Church with Pastor Gary Higgins officiating. Interment will follow at Ironsburg Baptist Church Cemetery in Ironsburg, TN, concluding with a white dove release ceremony. Austin Didona, Marcus Dalton, Micah Howard, Karen Crowder, Danny Beshears, and Sammie Brown will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers include Mark Young, Buck Beard and Rick Hickman.
The family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Sunday, March 30, 2014, at the church and one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.
