Mildred Thelma Holt, 93, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Thursday, April 3, 2014 in a Chattanooga hospital. She was a member of Fairview Church and a devoted Christian wife, mother and grandmother. Mrs. Holt was a retired truck driver for MICA Carpet Mills, former co-owner of Orbit Sportswear in Cleveland, and also worked for Delta Manufacturing and Peerless Woolen Mills.
Preceding her in death was her husband, John Paul Holt; parents, Bascom B. and Cora Price Calfee; grandson, Darren Holt; brothers, George Calfee and Willard Calfee; sisters: Maxie Kincaid and Leona Hamilton; and son-in-law, G. C. Park.
She is survived by her 5 children: Willis Holt and wife, Martha of Charleston; Owen Holt and wife, Arlene; Mildred Park; Larry Holt and wife, Glenda; and Garry Holt and wife, Barbara; all of Cleveland; 14 grandchildren: Roger Holt, Ginger Miolen, Jeannie Ledford, Tina Hatherly, April Myers, Farren Holt, Denise Myers, Bridgett Lee, Timothy Park, Aimee Dietz, Duane Holt, Wendy Owensby, Julie Baggett and Eric Holt; several great grandchildren; brother, Reuben “Pete” Calfee of Lufkin TX; sisters: Ruby “Patsy” Lee of Ascatula, FL; Della Faye Wilson of Chatsworth, GA; and Dorothy Charles of Calhoun, GA; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am Saturday, April 5, 2014 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Reverend Otis Daniel officiating. Interment will follow in Hilcrest Memorial Gardens with Farren Holt, Duane Holt, Logan Owensby, Roger Holt, Nathan Lee, Tony Dietz, Derek Myers, Brad Myers and Dylan Holt serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 4-8 pm Friday, April 4, 2014 at the funeral home.
