Noreba Dixon Howell

February 6, 1940 — May 9, 2014

Noreba “Reba” Dixon Howell, 74, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Friday, May, 9, 2014, at her home.  She was a very active member of Michigan Avenue Baptist Church, where she was a Sunday School teacher, nursery worker, VBS teacher, church secretary and a faithful choir member throughout her life. She attended Michigan Avenue School, Bradley High School and The National School of Business.  She loved quilting, flowers, her daily cup of tea, but most of all her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, E.M. and Cynthia Beard Dixon; two sisters:  Patricia Ann and Doris Dixon Goza, two brothers:  George and Jim Dixon; a sister-in-law, Frankie Norris: and a great granddaughter, Dylan Kate Murphy.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Kenneth E. Howell; one son, Jeff and wife, Jeanill Howell; one daughter, Sheri Vincent and husband Jeff; one daughter-in-law, Karen F. Howell, grandchildren:  Jay Howell, Skylar Murphy and husband Micah, and Katlyn Mullins and husband Chris, great grandchildren:  Kaden, Katie Beth and Jackson Murphy, and Harlow Mullins, four sisters:  Honey Climer and husband Lake, Mickey Wooten and husband Chester, Audrey Dixon, and Sandra Gray and husband Larry, two brothers:  Nig and wife Eva Dixon, and Wayne Dixon, also 21 nieces and nephews, several great nieces and nephews and several great-great nieces and nephews, whom she loved very much.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 12, 2014, at Michigan Avenue Baptist Church with Pastor David Peters and Pastor Victor Hayes officiating.  Interment will follow in Michigan Avenue Baptist Church Cemetery.  Serving as pallbearers will be her nephews:  Steve Dixon, Heath Littrell,  Randy Climer, Ross Wooten, Jay Goza, Jacob Climer, Andy Skidmore, and Jeffery Hendricks.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. on Monday, May 12, 2014, at Ralph Buckner Funeral Home.

The family requests donations be made to the Michigan Avenue Baptist Church Choir Department.
