Donnie Ralph Ballew, 68, a resident of Old Fort, passed away Saturday, December 21, 2013 in a local hospital. He retired from Shaw Industries after 42 years of service and was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his wife: Dorothy Dills Ballew; and parents: Earl and Marie Moore Ballew.
He is survived by two children: Tony Ballew and wife Keisha of Old Fort and Tammy Hicks and husband Gary of Cleveland; four grandchildren: Sarah Morrow and husband Shane, Justin Ballew, Lacee Mae Ballew, all of Cleveland, and Kiara Ballew of Old Fort; one great grandchild: Aaden Ballew; one sister: Linda Bowman and husband Bobby of Tennga, GA; one brother: Gene Ballew and wife Jonnie of Old Fort; and three nephews and one niece.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, December 23, 2013 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Pastor Roger Wagner and Pastor David Evans officiating. Interment will follow at Ball Play Cemetery in Old Fort. Pallbearers will be Mac Wilcoxon, Deno Talley, Richie Talley, Holland Black, Barry Ballew, and Rick McCurry. The service will conclude with a white dove release ceremony.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 22, 2013 at the funeral home.
