Hubert Herbert McKenzie, 76, a resident of Georgetown, passed away Tuesday, December 3, 2013 in an Athens healthcare facility. He was a member of Brittsville Baptist Church. He retired after 25 years from Luck Color Lab. He enjoyed gardening and bartering with friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nora Davis McKenzie in 1983; parents, Elish and Martha Lockman McKenzie; sisters: Faye Brown and Joyce Greene; brother, Royce McKenzie; and stepson, Robbie Woody.
He is survived by his wife, Myra Combs McKenzie of Georgetown; children: Billy Davis and Bobby Davis both of San Antonio, TX; Roberta Brianne of Georgetown; Phyllis Scott and Edna Scott both of Cleveland; Eva Gates of Old Fort; Betty Boring of McDonald; and Connie Riddle of Crandall, GA; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; sister, Linda Stafford of Cleveland; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 5, 2013 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Pastor Kenneth Purdie officiating. Interment will follow in Earls Cemetery with his grandsons and nephews serving as pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.
His family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, December 6, 2013 at the funeral home.
