Emily Ruth Carroll, 83, a resident of Cleveland, was welcomed into the arms of her Lord and Savior, Wednesday, December 4, 2013 in a Chattanooga hospital. She was a member of Prospect Church of God.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John H. and Ella Mae Day Douglas; infant son, William R. Carroll, Jr.; and brother, Ed Douglas.
She is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, William “Bill” Carroll; daughter, Beverly Benge and husband, Michael of Peru, IN; son, Tom Carroll and wife, Brenda of Cleveland; grandchildren, Michele McNabb and husband, Marty; Rebecca Maddox and husband, Bryan; all of Cleveland; Steven Carroll of Knoxville; and Lauren Carroll of Durango, CO; great grandchildren: Micayla Maddox, Logan Maddox, Mia McNabb, and Holly Maddox all of Cleveland; siblings: Easter Barnhart, Gladys Forgey and husband, James; Betty Alley and husband, Don; John Douglas and wife, Ruby all of Cleveland and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 7, 2013 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Pastor Timothy Gann officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with Jerome Broome, Andy Reynolds, Jeff Day, Robert Gregg, Corey Simpson and Christopher Epperson serving as pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.
Her family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Friday, December 6, 2013 at the funeral home.
