Sharon Kay (Reagan) Beck

Sharon Kay (Reagan) Beck, 76, a resident of Cleveland, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, December 26, 2013.  She was a member of Shenandoah Baptist Church. She received her Bachelor’s Degree from Doane College in Crete, NE and her Master’s Degree in English from Chadron State College in Chadron, NE. She was employed as an English teacher for many years. Her tremendous love of reading and history was passed on to all of her children and grandchildren. Her love for America motivated her to serve on numerous local and statewide political committees throughout her lifetime, including the Benson Women’s Republican Club. Sharon served for two years in the Nebraska State Legislature as a state senator. She served on multiple political campaigns, including that of U.S. Senator Chuck Hagel, currently the U.S. Secretary of Defense.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Dean Bennett Reagan.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Dr. Bill D. Beck of Cleveland; four children: Clayton Beck and wife, Angela of Brussels, Belgium; Dr. Curtis Beck and wife, Sanine of Lincoln, NE; CAPT Clinton Beck (USN) and wife, Kimberly of South Easton, MA; and Christine Hassevoort and husband, Darrin of Chattanooga, TN; nine grandchildren: Austin Beck, Audrey Beck, Andrew Beck, Matthew Beck, Ethan Beck, Amanda Beck, Jeremiah Beck, Sophie Hassevoort, and Ian Hassevoort; two brothers: Armand Reagan and wife, June of Aurora, CO; and Dennis Canavan of Sun City, CA; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, December 29, 2013 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Pastor Brent Coley and Pastor James Scott officiating. Interment will follow in Hilcrest Memorial Gardens with a white dove release ceremony concluding the service.

Her family will receive friends from 1:30-3:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home prior to the service.
