Garrett H Haven

July 23, 1924 — January 6, 2014

Garrett H. Haven, Jr., 89, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Monday, January 06, 2014 in a local healthcare facility. He was a member of First Baptist Church. He was retired from Bowater after 31 years of service. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving in WW II in Europe and later the Korean Conflict.

He was an avid bowler and golfer. He was a graduate of Bradley Central High School class of 1943 where he was chosen Most Athletic and in later years was inducted into the Old Timers Hall of Fame. He played the first football game ever to be played in Hitler Stadium in Nuremburg, Germany.

Mr. Haven was preceded in death by his wife, Reba Bivens Haven; daughter, Janice Fenton.

Survivors include his two children: Howard Haven and Holly Lehman and husband, Kevin all of Cleveland; three grandchildren: Christopher Lehman and wife, Kelly of Cleveland, Melissa Fenton Reno and husband, Matt of Norwood, Ohio, and John Fenton and wife, Patricia of Norwood, Ohio; six great-grandchildren: Brianna Mikel, Scott Reno, Austin Reno, Macy Reno, Garrett Fenton and Cedar Fenton.

At Mr. Haven’s request, there will be no funeral service.
