Katherine E. Cagle, 92, passed away Thursday, January 9, 2014. Katherine was born April 7, 1921 in Athens, TN.
Katherine lived in Cleveland and Wickliffe, OH before her 1984 retirement from the Cleveland Clinic. She was a clerk for 28 years. After retirement she lived in Cleveland, TN, for 18 years, and then moved back to Mentor, OH.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin, of 67 years; parents, Frank and Annie Smith-Burger; brothers: Howard, Clyde, Frank; and sisters: Helen, Reba, and Wanda.
Survivors are her children: Lloyd M. (Mike) Cagle and wife Bonnie of Wickliffe, OH; Jane Ingram and husband Dan of Lake Isabella, MI; Barbara May and husband Gene of Mentor, OH; one sister-in-law, Martha Lee McKee; five grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild, and several nieces and nephews.
There will be a viewing from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon on Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at Ralph Buckner Funeral Home. There will be a chapel service following the viewing. Following the service she will be laid to rest next to her husband at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Athens, TN. The service will conclude with a white dove release ceremony.
