Lester F Phillips

November 30, 1936 — January 22, 2014

Lester F. Phillips, 77, a resident of Georgetown, TN passed away Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at the family residence.  He was a member of the Durkee Road Church of God of Prophecy.  He enjoyed riding his Gold Wing motorcycle trike with family and friends.  He was a former superintendent with Ruben H. Donnelly, in Research and Development Department.

Mr. Phillips was the son of the late Dewey Phillips and Leathie Baugh Phillips and was also preceded in death by his son, Stephen Phillips.

He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Shelby Phillips of Georgetown; five children:  Sharon Warren and husband, Clay of Cleveland, Carolyn DeLaby and husband, David of West End, NC, Angie Harris of Cleveland, Robert Phillips and wife, Teresa of Cleveland and Alan Phillips and wife, Donna of Cleveland; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-nine great-grandchildren; one brother, Dewey Eugene Phillips and wife, Betty of Somerset, KY; one sister, Betty Lou Miles.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 25, 2014 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Pastor Rick Brogdon officiating.  Interment will follow in Hilcrest Memorial Gardens with a white dove release ceremony concluding the service. His grandsons,           S. Lester Phillips, Eric Phillips, Ryan DeLaby, Greg Harris, Casey Phillips and Sam Phillips will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Friday, January 24, 2014 at the funeral home.
