PATSY D SPARKS

March 7, 1934 — January 29, 2014

Patsy Ruth Dilbeck Sparks, age 79, a resident of Cleveland and formerly of Copperhill passed away, Wednesday morning, January 29, 2014 at her residence.  She was a member at New Friendship Baptist Church where she served as the church treasurer and an active member of the Ladies Sunday school class.

Ms. Sparks worked with Superior Home Healthcare as office manager for many years.  Before movingto Cleveland, she worked at Copper Basin Medical Center.  She loved life, her family, and family gatherings, especially the Dilbeck family reunion every year.  She especially enjoyed the fall each year cheering for the Atlanta Braves and the Tennessee Volunteers.  She was looking forward to watching Peyton Manning win the Super Bowl again.

She enjoyed watching and hearing about her grandchildren’s ball games and activities and was a joy to all who knew her.

Preceding her in death was her husband, Jack Sparks.

Survivors include her four children and their spouses: Delane “Harvey” Sparks (Kathy “Cuz”), Lisa Sparks Ross (Lynn), Rhonda Sparks Yim (Si), Holly Sparks Cox (Joel); grandchildren, Carla Sparks Tingle, Stephanie Ballew, Nikki Castelow, Kasi Hicks, Dusty Hicks, Morgan Ross, Keri Beth Cox and Daniel Cox; great-grandchildren, Chayse Wooten, Allie Ballew, Jenna Yim, Jayden Castelow, Anna Ballew, Chloe Castelow, Jack Tingle and Lillie Tingle; brothers, Dan Dilbeck and Larry Dilbeck; sisters, Marlene German, Brenda Hamby, Darlene Woodward, Frances Bailey and Patt Whitlow.

Funeral services will be conducted at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, January 31, 2014 at New Friendship Baptist Church with Pastor Eric Atkins and Pastor Larry Bryant officiating.  Interment will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 1, 2014 at Copper Ridge Memorial Gardens with Harvey Sparks, Lynn Ross, Si Yim, Joel Cox, Jamey Ballew and Dusty Hicks serving as pallbearers.  Honorary pallbearers will be Tony Tingle, Jeremy Castelow, Chayse Wooten and Daniel Cox.  A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.

Her family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. on Friday, January 31, 2014 at New Friendship Baptist Church.
