David Lee Smith

David Lee Smith, 58, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Monday, February 03, 2014 in a local hospital. He was employed with First Fleet Incorporated. He was a veteran of the United States Army and was a member of the American Legion and AM Vets. David was the National Director of Membership for the 40-8.
Mr. Smith was the son of the late Clyde R. Smith and Mary R. Headrick Smith and was also preceded in death by his sister, Carolyn Sanders.
He is survived by his wife, Debra Smith of Cleveland; three children: Michael David Smith and wife, Jessica of Huntington, West Virginia, Richard Jason Smith and wife, Leah of Cookeville, TN and Jonathan Marc Smith of Cleveland, Ohio; nine grandchildren; one brother, Richard Smith and wife, Mary of Chattanooga; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 07, 2014 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Reverend Joey Harris officiating. The Eulogy will be given by the 40-8. Interment will follow in the veteran’s section of Fort Hill Cemetery with military honors. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, February 06, 2014 at the funeral home.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers memorials be made to The Nurses Training Scholarship Fund Voiture 735, PO Box 2153, Cleveland, TN 37320.
