Wayne Pohlner, 68, went to be with the Lord on Friday,

November 29, 2013, with his loving family at his side. He was a member of the Peerless Road Church of God of Prophecy where he served on the original building committee. He was the owner of Pohlner Landscaping for 43 years. He developed and landscaped the original back 9 at Waterville Golf Course. He was a member of the Tennessee National Guard for 6 years. Many special memories were made spending time on his pontoon boat with family and friends.

He was the son of the late Frank J. and Minnie A. Lawrence Pohlner. Also preceding him in death was his stepfather, Jesse Boyer.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Melva Leader Pohlner of Cleveland; two children, son Frank Pohlner, Jr., and special friend Kerry Coyle of Cleveland, and son Jonathan Pohlner of Cleveland; two grandchildren, Kirstein Pohlner of Cleveland, and Jessica James and husband Steven of Chattanooga; two great-grandchildren, the joys of his life, Kensley and Kayden of Cleveland; one sister, Linda Hughes and husband Jimmy of Cleveland; one niece, Carla Watson and husband Tony and children, Nathan and Brad, all of Cleveland.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 2, 2013, at the Peerless Road Church of God of Prophecy officiated by Pastor Brian Sutton, Bishop Sam Clements, and Gary Fuller. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Serving as pallbearers will be Perry Horner, Randy Howard, Richard Carter, Scott Gillum, Don Jackson, Terry Lawrence, Jerry Nunnery, and Harold Pratt. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.

His family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Sunday,

December 1, 2013, at Ralph Buckner Funeral Home and from 1:00-2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 2, 2013, prior to the service at the church.
