Donald R. Ballinger, 79, of Cleveland, passed away Thursday, November 14, 2013 in a local hospital. He was a member of Spring Place Church of God of Prophecy. He worked for 10 years at TVA as a pipefitter in their electrical power plants. He enjoyed working in his garden and vineyard, and working in the gym at Bradley Central High School where he enjoyed being with the students. He was preceded in death by his wife Jacquelyn Ballinger; parents: Arnold Richard Ballinger and Elizabeth Ruth Carroll Ballinger; two sisters; and one brother. He is survived by five children: Ken Ballinger of Dalton, GA, Steve Ballinger, Donny Ballinger, Larisa Ballinger, all of Cleveland, and Terri Ballinger of Chattanooga; eight grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. Monday, November 18, 2013 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Pastor William Coile and Pastor Daniel Brown officiating. Interment will follow in Samples Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery with Colby Ballinger, Jake Ballinger, Bramble Mounger, Tommy Ballinger, Richard Ballinger, and Tim Howe serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Sunday, November 17, 2013, at the funeral home.
