Madge R Ramsey

Madge R. Ramsey, 82, a resident of Cleveland, passed away on Friday, November 15, 2013 in a local healthcare facility. She was a member of First Baptist Church, a member of the First Families of East Tennessee, and enjoyed traveling. She worked for 23 years as a secretary for the Cleveland City Schools. She was preceded in death by her parents: Guy Russell and Grace Kilgore Russell; and by three brothers. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, James David Ramsey of Cleveland; one son, Ed Ramsey of Cleveland; one daughter, Becky Guthrie and husband Ken of Cleveland; three grandchildren: Sarah Detty and husband Steven of Burleson, TX, Abby Ramsey of Cleveland, and Emily Guthrie of Nashville; and one great grandson, Arlen Turner of Cleveland. Graveside services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at the Chattanooga National Cemetery with Pastor Tom Wickes officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, November 19, 2013 prior to the service at Ralph Buckner Funeral Home.
