James L. McCulley

James L. "Jimmy" McCulley, 85, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Saturday, August 31, 2013 in a local healthcare facility. He was of the Christian faith. He was a world traveler but loved the United States the best. He was retired from Dupont. Mr. McCulley was the son of the late James Knox McCulley and Lillie Ballard McCulley and was also preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Allen McCulley and his sister, Dorothy Higgins. Survivors include his daughter, Susan Houston of Chesterfield, VA; close and special friend, Sharon Lynn Puckett of Cleveland and her daughter, Jeanne Griffith and husband, Tim of Cleveland; Sharon?s son, Bob Puckett of Cleveland; grandchildren by choice: Jacob Griffith, Jaclyn Griffith, Keelie Puckett and Cade Puckett; one brother, Gene McCulley and wife, Ruby of Cleveland; one sister, Shirley Bailey of Greenville, SC; nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 4, 2013 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Ron Puckett officiating. Interment will follow in Hilcrest Memorial Gardens with a white dove release concluding the service. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at the funeral home.
