Tomye Billingsley Howard

Tomye Billingsley Howard, 96, died Saturday, October 5, 2013 in a local hospital. Tomye was a member at First Baptist Church where she was instrumental in starting the Children?s Nursery Program and was a member of the Moncrief Sunday School Class. She served as a volunteer in scouting and at Bradley Memorial Hospital. Tomye was the office manager at Miller?s Department Store before her retirement in 1981. She was preceded in death by her husband, Taylor Howard, Sr.; her mother, Etta Billingsley; and a son-in-law, John Bertin. She is survived by her son, Taylor Howard and his wife Gayle; daughter Sue Bertin; grandchildren, Rachael Bertin Duke and Taylor Bertin of Memphis, TN; and beloved neighbors and friends. Graveside services will be held at Hilcrest Memorial Gardens on Tuesday, October 8, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. The family requests memorial contributions may be made to United Way of Bradley County or the charity of your choice.
