Barbara J. Taylor, 68, of Cleveland, TN, passed away on October 8, 2013, after a lengthy illness. A talented musician from a young age, Barbara graduated Salutatorian of her class at Copper Basin High School and attended King College in Bristol, TN, on a music scholarship. She was employed first as a flight attendant for Piedmont Airlines, and she retired as an Executive Assistant with Fluor Corporation. After retirement for some time she returned to be church pianist at the Farner Presbyterian Church where she had played in her youth. At the time of her death she was an active member of Prospect United Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She loved spending time with her family, gardening, and actively participating in her church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse James Taylor and Vera Beatrice Blackwell Taylor of Cleveland. She is survived by her brothers, Richard D. Taylor of Cleveland, TN and Jesse James Taylor, Jr. of Denver, CO; her daughters, Noelle Beck (husband, Kevin) of Chattanooga, TN and Melodie Scoggins (husband, Ken Conrad) of Franklin, TN; grandchildren, Chase Scoggins, Courage Scoggins and Gabriella Beck; and several nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held at Prospect United Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Cleveland, TN, on Sunday, October 13, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. The family asks that in lieu of flowers that donations be made in memory of Barbara Taylor to Prospect United Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
