Jane Hickey Patten

Jane Hickey Patten, 84, a lifelong resident of Cleveland passed away at her daughter?s home Saturday, March 16, 2013. She was born June 26, 1928 in Cleveland, TN. to Ralph Gordon Hickey and Edith Smith Hickey. She graduated from Bradley Central High School in 1946 where she was Homecoming Queen and Head Cheerleader. She attended the University of Chattanooga where she was a member of Chi Omega Fraternity and was presented as a debutante at The Cotton Ball. She was married to her husband of 52 years, Charles Louis "Buddy" Patten and they had three children. She was a faithful member of St Luke?s Episcopal Church since 1950 where she served in many capacities including The Altar Guild, the Episcopal Church Women, the St. Luke?s Annual Bazaar, Sunday School teacher, Vacation Bible School teacher, EYC youth leader and was the very first female Chalice Bearer. She was a charter member of the Cleveland-Athens Cotillion and served on the Board. She is preceded in death by her husband, BuddyPatten; her parents, Ralph and Edith Hickey; brother, William "Bill" Hickey; sister, "Bunny" Hickey Leppink, and by longtime companion and employee, Elizabeth "Woo Woo" McClellon. She is survived by her children, Janey Patten, Lou Patten and wife, Debbie, Edie Feehrer and husband, Kelly all of Cleveland; grandchildren, Amy Beard Markham and husband, Joe, Christy Cannon and husband, Josh, James Jackson and wife, Heather; Jonathan Jackson and wife, Molly, Emily Davidson and husband, Corey, Catherine Patten,(Rusty Snyder), Natalie Ghrist, Amy McGranahan and husband, Brian, all of Cleveland; Patten Feehrer of Knoxville, Sarah Jane Moore and husband, Chase,and Charlie Patten, all of Nashville, and Maggie Patten and fiancé, Danny Schoenbaechler of Louisville, Ky. Great-grandchildren, Mackenzie Jane Mahan, Ashtyn Cannon, Charlotte Cannon, Madison Jackson, James "Buddy" Jackson, Addison Jane Davidson, and Alex McGranahan all of Cleveland. She is also survived by sister-in-law, Joyce and Bill Edmondson, Dot Patten and Louise Evans, brother-in-law, Jim Leppink and lifetime friend, Molly Corn, several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and other extended family members. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Luke?s Episcopal Church with Priest Joel Huffstetler officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 11:00 a.m. to1:00 p.m. Wednesday prior to the service.
