Sue Terrell Jones

August 14, 1941 — April 4, 2013

Sue Terrell Jones, 71, of Cleveland, died Thursday, April 4, 2013 at her home. Sue was a member of St. Luke?s Episcopal Church. She graduated from Peabody College and the Warren Gary Gay School of Design. She worked in several different fields including Social Worker, Textbook Sales Administrator, and English Teacher at the Cleveland Day School, Interior Design, and Real Estate. She loved tennis, bridge, and reading. She was on a National Championship Tennis team while living in Indianapolis. She enjoyed competitive duplicate bridge and participated in several major tournaments. In recent years, she especially enjoyed the Cleveland Bridge Club games at the Senior Center and also her regular Wednesday bridge group. As an avid reader she supported the Bradley Cleveland Library and served on the board of Friends of the Library. She will be long remembered for her courageous battle against the ravages of COPD. She never, never gave up this fight. The family would like to thank her many friends who helped her in this battle. The family would also like to thank the professional medical and home health care personnel at Skyridge Medical Center, Family Home and Hospice Care, and Personal Care Choices for their wonderful support. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Margaret Terrell. She is survived by her husband, Richard (Tiger) Jones of Cleveland; sons, Allan and wife, Heather of Richmond, VA and Terry and wife Melissa of Stafford, VA; grandchildren, Nate Jones, Stuart Morris, Alexis Jones and Christopher Jones; sister, Kathy Hurst and husband, Steve of Clinton, TN; nephews, Ryan, Harold and Ty Jones. Services will be conducted at St. Luke?s Episcopal Church at 1:00 p.m. Monday, April 8, 2013. Burial will be in the St. Luke?s Memorial Garden following the service. Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Monday, April 8, 2013 in the Church Parish Hall prior to the service. Memorials in lieu of flowers should be given to St. Luke?s Church or the charity of your choice.
