Barbara Byrd

Barbara Richardson Byrd of Cleveland, passed away December 28, 2012 at her home in Palm Harbor, Florida. She was born on October 15, 1930 in Cleveland to Charlie and Fannie Clayton Richardson. Most of her life was spent in Virginia Beach, Virginia where she worked for The Travelers Insurance Company in Norfolk and retired as a secretary from Rock Church in Virginia Beach. Upon retirement she moved back to Cleveland in 1999. She was a member of Cleveland Cornerstone Church and has served as secretary on the Board of Trustees since 2003. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Frannie Clayton Richardson and her son, Edward Korf Jennings. Barbara is survived by her daughters: Susan Byrd Missig and husband, Brian of Acworth, GA and Sara Byrd Walczykiewicz and husband, John of Palm Harbor, FL; five grandchildren, Matt Walczykiewicz of Palm Harbor, Florida, Adam Missig of Kennesaw, GA. Erin Missig Bigelow and husband, Mike of Jacksonville, NC, Cindy Jennings Brandenburg and husband, Garrett of Chickamauga, GA and Katie Jennings of Chattannooga; great-granddaughter, Jill Brandenburg and great-grandson: Lucas Patrick Missig. She is also survived by her brother, Wendell Richardson and wife, Donna of Cleveland and niece, Cindy Richardson and nephew, Andy Richardson of Cleveland. She also leaves behind many good friends in both Cleveland and Virginia Beach. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 12, 2013 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Pastor Herb Conley officiating. Interment will follow in Fort Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home prior to the service.
