Caroline Peck

Caroline “Carolyn” Mitchell Peck, 65, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Monday, November 5th, 2012 at her residence. She was a member of Broad Street United Methodist Church. An accomplished seamstress and cook, she was also an active insurance agent with Horace Mann Insurance Company. Above all, she was a devoted mother and wife. She was preceded in death by her parents: Charles Leroy and Margaret Renfro Mitchell; brothers: Bobby Mitchell and Ronnie Mitchell; an infant sister: Naomi Mitchell. She is survived by her husband of 34 years, James Peck of Cleveland; her children: Shelley McCarter and husband Roy of Cleveland, Chris Norton of Athens, Andrea Bredwell and husband Michael of Decatur, John Peck and wife Ashley of Nashville, Jayme Peck of Knoxville, Jim Peck and wife Robin of Cleveland, Sherry Kirsche and husband Steve of Jacksonville, FL and Kim Sylvester and husband Chris of Jacksonville, FL; 17 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; sister: Gail Finley and husband Robert of Athens; brother: Jerry Mitchell of Decatur and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be Friday, November 9, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Pastor Paul Mitchell officiating. Interment will follow in Sewee Cemetery in McMinn County with a white dove release ceremony concluding the service. Pallbearers will be Matthew Goforth, Joshua Norton, Hunter Ballew, James Peck III, Adam Mitchell and Chris Duggan. Family will receive friends on Thursday, 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Carolyn waged a courageous two-year battle with cancer, and the family asks that in lieu of flowers contributions be made to the Memorial Healthcare System Foundation, 2525 de Sales Avenue, Chattanooga, TN 37404 in Memory of Carolyn Peck for Cancer Research or Cancer Support Services.
