Dean McCartt

October 13, 1928 — July 17, 2012

Dean McCartt, 83, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Tuesday, July 17, 2012 in a Chattanooga hospital. She was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. McCartt was the daughter of the late Harold C. Sanders and Dora Mae Williamson Sanders and was also preceded in death by her husband, Arnold Walter McCartt, Sr. who passed away on January 2, 2000; her son, Arnold McCartt, Jr. and great-granddaughter, Kairi Anna McCartt. Survivors include her children, Sandra Richmond and husband, Troy and Andra Pippenger and husband, Terry all of Cleveland; daughters-in-law, Darla Rives and Meghan Boles both of Cleveland; four grandchildren, Danica Pippenger and (Artie Hanes), Ryan McCartt and wife (Chastity McCartt), David McCartt and (fiancée Meagan Thomas) and Alex McCartt; six great-grandchildren, Jackson Hanes, Ryley McCartt, Malorie Lawson, Alexis McCartt, Chris Thomas and Jared Edenfield; five brothers, Clayton Sanders of Ten Mile, Wilbur Sanders of Waterloo, IN, Boyce Sanders of Williamsburg, Ohio, Ray Sanders of Knoxville and Bill Sanders of Tacoma, WA; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Friday, July 20, 2012 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Minister Steve Hall officiating. Interment will follow in Chattanooga National Cemetery with a white dove release ceremony concluding the service. The family will serve as pallbearers. Honoray pallbearers will be Troy Richmond and Terry Pippenger. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home prior to the service.
