Glenn Paul Curtis, 68, of Cleveland, passed away Friday, July 20, 2012 in a Chattanooga hospital. He retired as a supervisor from Whirlpool after 44 years of service. For over 47 years Glenn officiated softball, basketball and football games in the Bradley County area. He was of the Christian faith. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Otis and Cara Cheek Curtis. Glenn is survived by his wife of 47 years, Sharon Brown Curtis of Cleveland; children, Glenn "Scott" Curtis of Cleveland and Debbie Curtis Byrd and husband, Robert of Knoxville; two grandchildren, Noah Byrd and Nathan Byrd, both of Knoxville; sister, Joyce Hodge and husband, David of Decatur; brothers, Billy Curtis and wife, Sandra and Randall "Randy" Curtis, all of Cleveland; and several nieces and nephews, including special nephew, Greg Cashion. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, July 23, 2012 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with the Reverend Ray Higgins, Daniel Roberts, Tom Rumba and Jerry Frazier officiating. Interment will follow in Hilcrest Memorial Gardens with Joe Wilson, Steve Richardson, Robbie Casteel, Jim Woody, Jerry Frazier, Daniel Roberts and Tom Rumba serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the Tri County Football Association. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.
