Carolyn Maynard Neely, 64, a lifelong resident of Benton, passed away Wednesday, July 25, 2012 in an Etowah hospital. She was of the Baptist faith. She ran Maynard?s Beauty Shop in Cleveland for years. She was employed with Shaw Industries. Mrs. Neely was the daughter of the late Fletcher Hamby and Pearl Cross Hamby and was also preceded in death by her husband, Henry Hank Neely. She is survived by her daughter, Carol Guinnette Maynard and husband, Bruce Henry Maynard of Benton; three grandchildren: Joshua and wife, Heather Maynard, Cigi and husband, Zachary Trew and Jordan and wife Emily Maynard; four great grandchildren: Makayla Maynard, Bruce William Maynard, Brock Trew and Addyson Trew; step children: Pat, Dock, Tony, Larry, Pam, Scott and Shane; close friend, Gladys Gates; and several cousins also survive. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, July 28, 2012 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Benton Cemetery with Joshua Maynard, Bruce Maynard, Jordan Maynard, Zachary Trew, Dwight McDaniel and Frank Cook serving as pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service. Her family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
