Jerry Brookshire, 66, of McDonald, passed away Tuesday, September 18, 2012. He retired in 2010 as a welder with Heatec. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. Jerry was a member of Pine Hill Church of God. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Tressie Brookshire, Sr.; brother, Wallace Calvin Brookshire; and sisters, Betty Lee Shafer, Barbara Jean Brookshire, Marie Kuhen and Glenda Staton. He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Sandra Joan Brookshire of McDonald; children, Terrie Sue (Joe) Glover, Janet Marie (Ron) Veal, Tracy Ann (Art) Lawson and Mary Elizabeth Brookshire, all of Chattanooga and Joey (Harli) Morgan of Cleveland and Nathan Morgan of McDonald; 8 special grandchildren, Heather Oxendine, Jessica Fletcher, Stacey Phillips, Jimmie Walker, Amber Walker, Reina Castaneda, Alexis Castaneda and Eli Morgan; 9 great grandchildren; brother, Henry (Barbara) Brookshire, Jr. of Ooltewah; sister, Carolyn Davidson of Valley Head, AL; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 22, 2012 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Pastor David Beaty and Pastor Ronnie Kesley officiating. Interment will follow in Lee Cemetery with military honors. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service. His family will receive friends on Friday from 6:00-9:00 p.m. the funeral home.
