James Kenneth Hunt, 89, a lifelong resident of Polk County, passed away Thursday, March 01, 2012 at his residence. Mr. Hunt?s family was a pioneer family of Polk County. He was a member of Benton Station Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving in World War II and was a combat wounded veteran. He was a 32 degree Mason and a Scottish Rite member. He was retired from American Uniform. He was an avid fisherman and a farmer. He was also an avid UT football fan. Mr. Hunt was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Mable Wright Hunt who passed away in 1999 and was also preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Pledger Hunt and Betty Lou Shoemaker Hunt; two sisters, Margie Lou Hunt and Peggy Jean Hunt; brother, Thomas Clarence Hunt. He is survived by his two children: Susan Hunt and Mack Ross of Benton Station and David Hunt and wife, Linda of Cleveland; two grandchildren: Jacen Hunt and wife, Renee and Holly Schultz and husband, Jonathan all of Cleveland; three great-grandchildren: Luke Hunt, Madeline Schultz and Lilly Hunt all of Cleveland; one brother, Jerry Hunt and wife Queta; two sisters: JoAnn Park and husband, Charles and Ruth Daughtery all of Benton Station; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, March 4, 2012 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Reverend Todd Davis officiating. Interment will follow in Benton Cemetery with military honors. Jacen Hunt, Jimmy Baker, Donald Haney, Albert Howard, Neil Pippenger and Charles Lawson will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Jenkins, Theron Allen, Teddy Vore, Trey Lewis, Johnny Lewis, Darrin Hunt and Ben Burgess.
