Roger L. Hembree age 54, a resident of Cleveland, passed away on Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at his home after a five year battle with brain cancer. He selflessly donated his body to science in the hope of helping others. He was a member of Cohulla Baptist Church. He retired from Cleveland Utilities after thirty years of service. He enjoyed traveling, camping,motorcycling and riding his rail buggy. He was very devoted to his grandchildren. Mr. Hembree was the son of the late George Hembree and Ora Jones Hembree. He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Fay Hembree of Cleveland; four children: Bobby Hembree and wife, Stephanie of Maryville, Cody Hembree and wife, Ashley, Eric Flowers, Brent Flowers and wife, Teresa all of Cleveland; seven grandchildren: Gage Hembree, Ben Hurst, Billy Lewellyn, Haley Roe, Davin Flowers, Addison Hembree and Lane Hembree; three brothers: Bill Hembree, Earl Hembree and Tommy Hembree all of Cleveland; three sisters: Linda Baliles and Tonia Davenport both of Cleveland and Rosie Staton of Charleston; several nieces and nephews also survive. A memorial service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Sunday, March 18, 2012 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Pastor John Bivens, Pastor Tracy Fansler and Minister Nick Herron officiating. His family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home prior to the service.
