Charles W Chambers Sr.

Charles W. Chambers, Sr., 76, a lifelong resident of Cleveland, passed away Monday, March 19, 2012 in a local hospital. He was a member of Westwood Baptist Church. He was retired from TVA. He served in the United States Navy. Mr. Chambers was the son of the late Luther and Dorothy Chambers and was also preceded in death by his son, Chuck Chambers and a sister, Peggy Gardner. Survivors include his wife Judy Chambers of Cleveland; one daughter, Alice Johnson and husband, Ralph of Cleveland; one grandchild, Sean Johnson and wife, Brittney of Ft. Hood, TX; one sister, Betty Stoker of Rossville, GA. A memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, March 22, 2012 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Caywood officiating. A graveside service will be conducted Friday at 11:30 a.m. at Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors. His family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home prior to the service.
